Happy Days

Hi everyone it's good news, we'll be moving after being in lock down for several days. This is likely to be the last blog for this year. We will temporarily be without an NBN connection and will have to rely on the local library. The happy plant that we have growing is flowering and we hope that this is a good omen.

So until next time stay healthy and keep stitching, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at Christina's Craft and Gifts

November

Hi everyone it's November and we're still looking for rental accommodation to take all of our stuff. Is there anyone out there, who has a four bedroom house with a double garage to rent? Let us know. Its just over a month to go before Christmas is here. To help with last minute gift giving to friends, (Yourself included) we do have Gift Vouches

Our specials for the month of November are Primke Stranded Threads, Primke Kit Trailing Vine and fancy buttons.

October (one closer to the move)

Hi everyone it's October and the weather sill seems crazy. One day its already 30C and the next its raining so hard that you start to think where can I lay my hands on a row boat while trying to also cope with an icy blast of cold weather from the Antarctic. We're now busily looking for rental accommodation to take all of our stuff, so our old place can be ripped down and our new one built. All of us are eagerly waiting so that we can move back into our new place with its insulated walls and ceilings.

Our specials for he month of October are DMC Medici Wool (What we have left of), Finished Brooches and finally some Fancy Ribbon.

September

Hi everyone it's September and hopefully the last of the icy winter weather is behind us. The B.O.M. are telling us it has been the warmest winter on record, I don't know where they're getting their information from but it sure doesn't feel like it from our end. News on the home front. We've just done our colour selection for our new house, doors, taps, ext. So we're one step closer to our new house.

Our specials for he month of September are Gumnut Blossoms wool, Elsa Williams crewel embroidery and Primke Designs Kit Hearts And Flowers Sampler.

August last month of Winter

Hi everyone it's August, the last month of winter. The year has been one of extremes, the beginning of the year with its fires and forty plus temperatures to now with its zero degrees and lower. It feels like someone left the freezer door open in Antarctica. We've just had our soil profile done, so we're one step closer to moving and heaps more packing to do. For those who don't know We're ripping down our old place and re-building  new. Hard to imagen that we've been living in the same timber frame house for the past fifty eight years and none of us were born here, so you can imagen the place is looking a bit tired.

Our specials for he month of August are Rainbow Gallery Threads, Beads - Plastic Flowers and Primke Designs Kit Rose & Lilac Urn.

Hi everyone, we are in the process of moving and tearing down our old premises and building new. Don't panic we'll still be doing your orders but there are some things we wont be able to do, such as wooden boxes and slate frames, due to no tools, no workshop. Don't despair, our tireless staff are hard at it behind the scenes.

Our specials for the month of July are Sampler Threads, Stretcher Bars, and last but not least embroidery kits from Primke Designs, Little Jewels

For all your Leather

Hi everyone, I'm high jacking Monika's blog this month. I'm her brother Gunter, instead of the usual embroidery thread and material I'm offering you leather.
I started my working life in Orthopaedic footwear (where I acquired my stash of leather), I staid with the industry for almost 19 years, before retiring from the industry and moving on to embroidery supplies with my sisters (strange move I know but I love it). I've designed, stitched and won prizes for my efforts at the Royal Adelaide Show.
I have two types of leather for sale and they are Calf and Kid skins. The Calf is ideal for making bags, shoes, boots and scuffs. If you are using a machine to sew with, make sure you using a good diamond point leather needle, the same applies if you are using Kid. If you are stitching by hand, use good saddler needles or large Glover needles.
The Kid can be used to make Footwear or used in Gold work. If you are stitching by hand, use fine sharp needles or small Glover needles. Take care not to stab yourself (been there, done that). The leather can be found on the Christina's Craft web site. www.christinascraft.com.au

Now for the specials for the month of May.  YLI thread on Large reels, Charms to embellish your embroidery and finally Appleton's threads

October Specials

For those people still working on a wool embroidery project this month we have Mogear mohair threads on special.  Also check out the
Needle Necessities over dyed stranded cottons that we still have in stock.  These beautiful hand dyed threads have been re branded to
Threadworx, the names and numbers have been changed but the colours are supposed to be the same.  That said we have found that they vary
slightly from the original, so here is your chance to get some of the original, at a reduced price.

Finally we have decided to reduce our stock of Maria George Delica beads this month.  We thought that it would be an ideal time for those
of you working on your Christmas project, or just to add a little bling to whatever you are working on. Remember Christmas is fast approaching,
there are only 2 and a half months to go.
Well on that cheerful note I will call it quits for today.

Sunday, 25 August 2019

Spring is almost here.

I know that it does not feel like spring today but it is just around the corner, in fact just a week away.
We can always tell, because our Almond trees are flowering and the Freesias are budding up, ready to flower any time. It also means that those of us who suffer from hay fever, that time is all most here.

We are continuing our monthly specials, for September our sale items are Edmar threads, Cross stitch charts and Ginnie Thompson Flower threads.   There will be differed items each month, so do have a look each month on our Web Site to see if there is something there for you.

Our Royal Show starts next week, there is always a lot to see,  just have to hope that the weather will be good.

Well this shall be all for today, the weeds in the garden are waiting for me.

Happy Easter to all.

It is Easter already. What happen to March????? It was our Mothers 93 birthday and of course we where harvesting fruit from our trees and later on preserving the fruit.

I am having Easter with my family, we are not a large family here in Australia but we have a good time.

We just received news that Mogear threads will stop dying threads,as the Lady is retiring.
When we have sold the stock that we have on hand, that will be it. It is almost going back to
the bad all days when there was not much choice for over dyed thread.

This shall be all for today, I hope that everyone has a lovely Easter.
Happy stitching for all of us here at Christina's Craft and Gifts.
